In the Shopify admin
The app adds three extensions to your Shopify admin: a block on the order details page, an action on orders, and an action on draft orders. All three read and write the same verification record, so a result produced by one is visible in the others.
Order risk block
The block sits on the order details page, in the same column as Shopify's own order cards. It shows:
- Risk score: 0 to 100
- Risk level: low, medium, high, or critical
- Risk factors: each finding with its severity and category
- Analysis: the reasoning behind the score, written for a person
- Recommendations: the actions to consider
- Verified at: when the assessment was produced
When automatic verification is on, the block is already populated by the time you open the order. When it is off, or when the order predates the install, the block offers to run a verification.
The block loads the saved verification first and only calls the analysis when you ask it to, so opening an order never spends credits by itself.
Verify order action
Open an order and choose Verify AI from the more actions menu. Use it when:
- The order was placed before you installed the app
- Automatic verification is switched off
- The customer changed the shipping address after the order was placed
- You want a fresh read on an order you are about to ship
Running the action again replaces the cached result shown on the order page and adds a new row to your organization's verification log, so the history of what changed stays intact.
Verify draft order action
Draft orders get the same action, at Draft orders > the draft > more actions. This is where B2B and phone orders should be checked, because a draft can still be changed or abandoned.
Draft orders are never tagged. The app holds write_orders but not write_draft_orders, so a draft verification is read-only against your store.
Reading the result
Score bands are fixed, so the same number means the same thing on every store:
| Score | Level | What it means | Suggested action |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 to 30 | Low | Minimal red flags | Process normally |
| 31 to 60 | Medium | Some suspicious indicators | Send to manual review |
| 61 to 85 | High | Multiple fraud indicators | Verify the customer before fulfilling |
| 86 to 100 | Critical | Definitive fraud signals | Reject |
Severity on an individual factor uses the same four words, but it describes that finding alone. An order can carry one high severity factor and still score in the medium band when everything else about it checks out.
What the app does not do
The extensions report. They never cancel an order, hold fulfilment, refund a payment, or email a customer. Automating those steps is your decision, and Shopify Flow acting on the risk tag is the usual way to do it.
Missing order data
Some orders cannot be scored. A verification needs an order amount, a currency, a customer name and email, and both addresses. When one of those is absent, the extension names the missing fields instead of returning a number, because a score produced from half an order would look exactly as confident as one produced from all of it.
