Fraud review is done by guessing. We got tired of watching it.
Verify AI came out of building commerce software for businesses whose fraud process was one person, a search engine, and a feeling.
The pattern
Building TDCCommerce meant sitting with a lot of merchants while they worked. The fraud step was the same everywhere and nobody described it as a process, because it was not one.
An order came in over some threshold. Somebody stopped what they were doing, put the address into a search engine, looked at the email, and decided. If they were busy, they shipped it. If they had been burned that month, they held it and lost a real customer.
The tools that were supposed to help said “medium risk” and stopped there. That is a word, not a reason, so it either got ignored or over-trusted. Neither is a decision anyone could defend six weeks later when the chargeback arrived.
What the person doing the checking actually needed was the research they were about to do by hand: is this address a reshipper, is this card in a different name, is this IP a datacenter, does this order look like this customer. So Verify AI does that research, names every finding, and hands back the reasoning along with the number.
It also keeps all of it. The score, the factors, and the analysis stay on the record, because the decision is made in a minute and defended for a year.
It runs inside TDCCommerce for teams on the unified platform, as a Shopify app for merchants there, and over an API for everyone else. Fraud does not care what you replatformed to last year.
